What is a developmental screening? What is the difference between a developmental screening and a kindergarten screening?
A developmental screening is provided by Parents as Teachers to all children ages 3-Prek. This screening is conducted by a certified parent educator utilizing a screening tool that assesses skills in the areas of cognitive, language, motor, social-emotional, and self-help skills. In addition to those areas, a vision, hearing and articulation screening is also administered.
A Kindergarten Screening varies from school to school. A Kindergarten screening is an informal assessment of incoming kindergarten students to get a baseline of general knowledge. This screening is done at your child's intended Elementary School.
I am interested in a developmental screening for my 3-prek age child. How do I sign up?
